Bhilwara: A 30-year-old woman allegedly killed her two children and attempted to die by suicide Sunday evening in Manpura town in Bhilwara’s Mandalgadh police station area, police said.The woman, identified as Sanju Devi Teli, wife of businessman Rajulal, allegedly brutally murdered her 10-year-old daughter Neha and six-year-old son Bheru, police said. According to preliminary investigation, the mother committed the crime fearing she had some incurable disease like cancer. She first tried to kill both children by hanging them, then hit them with an iron rod. A rope was found on the scene, which the police said she had used in her unsuccessful attempt to die by suicide. The accused fell unconscious while trying to hang herself and sustained injuries.She has been admitted to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital in Bhilwara for treatment.Mandalgadh station in-charge Ghanshyam Meena said the police collected evidence from the crime scene in Manpura town with the help of FSL, and took the bodies of both children to the Mandalgadh hospital mortuary where the post-mortems were conducted. A case has been registered and police have begun a probe. “We have registered a murder case against the mother for killing both children and started an investigation. No family dispute has emerged as of now,” Meena said.
