Jaipur: The health department will investigate an incident in which an ASHA worker allegedly beat a doctor in Sikar Friday. An FIR has been filed against the ASHA worker in connection with the case.“The doctor issued a notice to the ASHA worker for allegedly not providing TB drugs to a patient. She was not happy with the notice served to her. We will investigate the case to find out more details,” said a senior health department official in Sikar.A video is also circulating on social media purportedly showing the ANM shouting at the doctor and attacking him. The incident happened in Kochhor Primary Health Centre, where the doctor was providing treatment to the patients. According to the FIR, ASHA worker of Sub Centre Ganora, Santosh Devi, entered the OPD and allegedly misbehaved with the doctor and attacked him.All Rajasthan In Service Doctors Association (ARISDA) has expressed displeasure at the incident. An ARISDA office-bearer said, “Is it possible for someone like an ASHA worker to behave in such a manner? She is not fit to remain in medical service and should be terminated immediately.
