Bhilwara: Armed men kidnapped a young woman from the VIP area outside the Bhilwara Superintendent of Police (SP) office Wednesday evening when she reached to record her statement following a love marriage. The incident triggered fear and a commotion near the complaint branch of the SP office.According to police, the woman, identified as Sangeeta from Badla village, had married Gopal Jat of Lakhminiyas (Kotdi) village against the wishes of both families. When the couple reached the SP office to appear before officers, Sangeeta was abducted in a black Scorpio allegedly by one Shivraj Jat and his associates.Policemen posted at the spot attempted to stop the vehicle, but the accused drove the Scorpio toward them, injuring a policeman during the attempt to prevent the kidnapping. Senior police officers were informed and blockades were set up across the area. Police said the accused were later detained in the Kotdi police station area, where Sangeeta was successfully rescued. She was taken to the local police station, where investigators were conducting interrogations to piece together the details of the harrowing ordeal.
