Jaipur: Leader of Opposition in the Rajasthan Assembly, Tikaram Jully, said Sunday the Bhajan Lal Sharma govt’s decision to introduce the anti-conversion law in the monsoon session of the legislature is an attempt to tarnish the atmosphere of brotherhood in the state, and to distract people from pressing issues like inflation, unemployment, corruption, broken roads, and deteriorating schools, solely for political mileage.He said Rajasthan has always been a land of communal harmony, where people of all faiths, including Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Jains, and Buddhists, live together in love and brotherhood. “This clearly indicates the govt’s intention to introduce this bill only to divert attention from essential issues and disrupt the state’s environment,” he said.Jully said the decisions were made solely to create confusion among the public. “The state govt is announcing the installation of solar panels for free in homes with monthly consumption exceeding 150 units. However, the reality is that even those who are paying are not receiving solar connections,” he said.Jully said BJP govt is deceiving the youth under the guise of recruitment in higher education. “The govt, which promised to provide 1.3 lakh govt jobs in the budget, is now announcing temporary recruitments. It should have conducted regular recruitment to appoint faculty in colleges, but instead, they introduced the ‘Agniveer’ scheme in higher education, where faculty will be temporarily recruited for five years on low wages. This is a grave injustice to the youth,” he said.
