Jaipur: The Rajasthan Medical Officer Recruitment examination, held on April 27, 2025, for 1,700 positions, remains in limbo despite the completion of all procedural requirements, including document verification. The administration is yet to release the final merit list or announce appointment dates, causing significant concern amongst candidates. The applicants point out a critical healthcare gap, where numerous Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and Community Health Centres (CHCs) across the state operate without doctors, whilst thousands of qualified medical professionals stand ready to serve, pending their appointment orders.A senior health department official said, “The process of verification of the documents of the candidates is complete. The Rajasthan University of Health Sciences has to release the merit list, and on the basis of the merit list, the recruitment of medical officers will be done. As soon as we get the lists of candidates, we will give them posting for the benefit of the patients.”RUHS has verified documents submitted by around 3,400 candidates who cleared the test for the positions. Verification of the documents was done to check if the candidates were registered with the Rajasthan Medical Council, which is mandatory for working as a doctor in the state. Also, checking of disability certificates and other certificates was verified. On the basis of these certificates, RUHS will prepare the final merit list for different categories, said the official.
