Acting chief justice recuses from hearing PIL over golf club

Jaipur: Rajasthan high court‘s acting chief justice Sanjeev Prakash Sharma Tuesday recused himself from hearing a public interest litigation (PIL) against the construction of a two-storey building inside Rambagh Golf Club. The PIL was filed by the Central Park Banchao Sangharsh Samiti (CPBSS), an organisation of daily morning walkers at Central Park, stating that an earlier high court order declared the Central Park complex, within which is Rambagh Golf Club, as a no-construction zone. The petitioners claimed that following construction of an underground parking lot, JDA had to demolish nine structures inside the Rambagh Golf Club. Although all these nine structures had been declared as illegal by the state govt, JDA was constructing the two-storied building to compensate for these nine structures, they said. “We will fight this matter till the end. Now another bench of the high court will take up the issue,” said Yogesh Yadav, president of CPBSS.
