Jaipur: Dense fog conditions prevailing across large parts of north India have caused train delays and a sharp rise in passenger congestion at Jaipur railway station. Several important trains, including Jodhpur–Howrah Express, Sriganganagar–Jaipur Express, Pooja Express and Marudhar Express, are running behind schedule.North Western Railway (NWR) authorities attributed the delays mainly to poor night-time visibility on multiple sections of the rail network. Foggy conditions have necessitated speed restrictions, particularly on routes connecting to Delhi, UPttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Punjab, they said. The situation worsens during late evening and night hours, when delayed arrivals and departures lead to heavy overcrowding in the station’s porch area and waiting zones. With several trains arriving hours late, passengers occupied every available space, adding to the chaos. Passengers expressed frustration over the repeated announcements of revised arrival times.
