Jaipur: Pleasant weather conditions prevailed across the state for the third consecutive day Monday, accompanied by hailstorms, dust storms, and rainfall in various areas in Jaipur, Ajmer, Udaipur, and Bharatpur divisions.
Due to strong winds in Raipur in Pali district, containers kept on a train fell and collided with a high-tension electric pole, while in Bundi, a transformer fell on a JCB machine. The meteorological department reported dust storms reaching speeds of 70 to 80 km per hour at numerous locations. According to the Met office here, these weather conditions are expected to continue till May 7.
Desuri (Pali) received rainfall of 45 cm since Sunday evening. Rainfall varying from 25 to 10 cm was witnessed at many places in Jodhpur, Jaipur, Ajmer, and Udaipur divisions. Moderate rainfall occurred at Marwar Junction, Sumerpur, Pali City, Desuri, and other areas of Pali. Also, mild to moderate rainfall was witnessed in Ajmer and Tonk districts in the evening. In many areas of Pali, people were elated at seeing waterfalls in hills as rainfall continued since Sunday.
Most places in the state witnessed a drop of almost 4 degrees Celsius. Jaipur recorded a minimum temperature of 25.1°C in the morning, which was followed by a cloudy and pleasant afternoon with a maximum temperature of 35.2°C. Cold winds blew in and around Jaipur in the evening. Rainfall occurred in Chomu, Dudu, Bagru, Bassi, and Hathoj areas.
Many places in Jodhpur, Udaipur, Kota, Bikaner, Jaipur, and Bharatpur divisions witnessed dust storms and hailstorms followed by rain.
The highest maximum temperature was recorded in Churu at 36.8 degrees Celsius.
