Jaipur: Rajasthan nursing officer union Tuesday demanded that the upcoming recruitment for 13,500 nursing officer posts and 5,000 auxiliary nurse midwife (ANM) posts be done through direct recruitment on merit and bonus marks. The union’s president, Pradeep Chaudhary, said nursing officers have been working on contract in hospitals across the state at a very low monthly salary of Rs 7,677. He said that earlier, in 2009, 2013, 2018, and 2023, nursing officers were recruited directly on merit and bonus. Chaudhary said the union’s demand from the govt was that the upcoming nursing officer and ANM recruitment be done on merit and bonus as before. He said nurses do not receive any kind of govt facilities, which was further distressing. tnn
