Teachers’ bodies rally ahead of district-level meet on Sept 26-27

Jaipur: With the district-level teachers’ conference scheduled for Sept 26-27, several teachers’ organisations across Rajasthan have drawn up their demand lists and urged maximum participation to press their case.Key issues raised include transfers of Grade-III teachers, conducting recruitment exam duties in a single shift, reducing non-academic work, filling vacant posts, and addressing pay disparities. “Transfers for all posts, from Grade-III onwards, should be initiated as per policy at the earliest. Promotions of teachers with three years of seniority to lecturers should be completed before Diwali so that vacant posts can be filled,” said Vipin Prakash Sharma, State President of Rajasthan Primary and Secondary Teachers Association. The organisation has demanded that teaching posts be sanctioned in all upgraded and existing schools as per the staffing pattern, ensuring vacancies are filled to maintain education standards. It has also urged teachers to bring their demands in writing and participate actively in the meet. Ranjeet Meena, State President of Rajasthan Shikshak Sangh (Ekikrit), appealed to teachers not to skip the conference. “This is an opportunity to voice your concerns before the state government. Teachers are facing suspension for mobile use, being burdened with work without funds, and delays in transfers. These must be raised collectively,” he said. Additional demands include more funds for school infrastructure, creation of a separate cadre for physical education teachers to allow transfers, and parity in pay for librarians and lab assistants. Vocational teachers, too, have sought full honorarium and exemption from non-academic duties.
