Udaipur: Hindustan Zinc Limited unveiled the poster and jersey for the 2nd Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon, set for September 21 at Field Club. This global event is expected to attract runners from 27 Indian states and beyond, uniting them in a vibrant celebration of fitness, inclusivity, and the #RunForZeroHunger campaign to combat malnutrition.The launch unveiled a poster showcasing Udaipur’s scenic beauty and a race-day jersey in bold blue, orange, and pink, symbolising inclusivity and energy. Chief conservator of forest Sunil Chedri, Hindustan Zinc CEO Arun Misra and Dr Manoj Soni of Anybody Can Run were present at the event, which featured a digital campaign and a captivating performance by mentalist Sapan Joshi. Engaging activities energised attendees, building excitement for the AIMS-certified event. Following last year’s success with over 5,000 runners, the 2025 marathon offers a 21-km Half Marathon, 10-km Cool Run, 5-km Dream Run, and a ‘Race with Champions’ for differently-abled participants. Runners will navigate Udaipur’s stunning landscapes, including Fateh Sagar Lake and the Aravalli Hills, merging fitness with cultural heritage. The event supports Hindustan Zinc’s #RunForZeroHunger campaign, backing Nand Ghar’s mission to combat malnutrition in India. “This marathon is a movement for inclusivity and positive change,” said Arun Misra. Sunil Chedri praised its role in promoting public health and boosting Udaipur’s global profile, tourism, and economy. Local businesses, hotels, and artisans are expected to benefit from the influx of visitors. Udaipur’s 3,000-year zinc mining legacy strengthens its ‘Zinc City’ identity, with the marathon enhancing its status as a sporting hub.
