Speaker Vasudev Devnani adjourned the House at 12.34pm when Congress MLAs protested in response to agriculture minister Kirori Lal Meena’s motion regarding compensation for farmers whose crops were damaged due to heavy rains. After the House resumed at 2pm, the protesting MLAs stepped into the well and began shouting slogans. The Speaker asked them to remain calm, but they refused to comply, forcing Devnani to condemn their misbehaviour. He said displaying pamphlets in the House was against the Constitution and law. After the bills were passed, the proceedings were adjourned until Monday.Giving his remarks on the factories Bill, Sheo MLA Ravindra Singh Bhati called for the protection and security of women during night shifts, and asked the state govt not to violate their rights. He also alleged that the wages of many factory workers were pending.Bharatpur MLA Subhash Garg proposed a statewide survey to study the health and working conditions of factory workers. “It should be assessed whether the provisions of the Factories Act are being complied with. Transportation, health, and security of women should be the govt’s priority under the Act,” Garg said.As per the Bill, women are entitled to be employed in all factories for all types of work, with their written consent, before 6am and after 7pm, provided their employers ensure adequate safety and security.
