Jhunjhunu: A woman from Haryana was allegedly gang-raped at gunpoint by three men in a flat at Bhageria Tower on Mandrela Road in Chirawa town of Jhunjhunu district. Police said one suspect was detained after the woman’s brother lodged a complaint at Chirawa police station Saturday. Search operations are underway for the other two accused.According to police report, the woman, who works as a seamstress in her village, was lured with the promise of a security guard job. About 15 days ago, she accidentally dialed a wrong number that connected her to a man named Jabbar. He began contacting her frequently, assuring her of a job and even sending her money via PhonePe to purchase a suit for an interview. On Aug 27, Jabbar visited her village, took her height and weight measurements, and handed her Rs 1,000 for travel. The next day, he asked her to come to Pilani. The woman reached Pilani in the afternoon, where Jabbar, along with two friends—Bhajan and Sonu—picked her up in a black Scorpio. The men then took her to Chirawa, where they brought her to a building with a warehouse below and a flat above. In her statement, the woman alleged that once inside, Jabbar pointed a gun at her head and forced her to undress. He then raped her, after which Bhajan and Sonu also assaulted her. The ordeal lasted nearly an hour. The accused later dropped her back at her village, warning her of dire consequences if she approached the police. The woman was taken for medical examination at Chirawa sub-district hospital Saturday. Chirawa DSP Vikas Dhindhwal said, “Strict action will be taken.“
