Bhilwara: A 20-year-old woman’s body was found in Tulsi Enclave Colony on Nimbahera Road in Chittorgarh Wednesday evening, creating panic in the area. The Sadar police arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area before beginning their investigation. The body was handed over to the family after post-mortem Thursday. The police registered a case of rape and murder and detained a suspect.Chittorgarh SP Manish Tripathi told TOI that an FSL team collected evidence from the scene. Initial findings suggest rape followed by murder. However, all angles are being probed, and the situation will become clear after the investigation. Kotwali police station in-charge Bhawani Singh said that Maya Keer (20), class 11 student from the Kotwali area, went to meet an acquaintance in Tulsi Enclave Wednesday. There, her acquaintance allegedly raped her, leading to excessive bleeding which led to her death. The acquaintance reportedly disposed of her body in a water drain. The police are reviewing CCTV footage from the area.
