Jaipur: NSUI started a statewide Chatra Chetna Yatra from Jodhpur Tuesday, demanding student union elections be reinstated in the state. As part of the campaign, students protested outside the district collectorate in Jodhpur and submitted a memorandum regarding their demands. The protest rally, led by aspiring student leaders Mahendra Chaudhary and Abhishek Chaudhary, would cover districts from Jodhpur to Jaipur and culminate at Rajasthan University around Aug15, where a mega protest will be held. As part of the rally, NSUI students will visit nine major universities and govt college campuses in the state to raise awareness about student union elections among students who have taken admission this year. “The first step of politics is the student union, and those students who want to try their future in politics can enter the field through student body polls. This opportunity should not be taken away from students,” said Abhishek Chaudhary. TNN
