Jaipur: In a fresh arrest in the Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment exam 2021 paper leak case, Special Operations Group (SOG) Tuesday arrested Vijay Kumar Damor (33), nephew of arrested former RPSC member Babu Lal Katara, for copying and memorising the leaked question papers and appearing in the exam himself.Additional director general (SOG) VK Singh said Damor, a native of Vagdhari village in Dungarpur, was staying at Katara’s official residence in Ajmer at the time of the exam. Katara, who was then an RPSC member, was tasked with preparing the answer keys for the SI exam.According to SOG, nearly 35 days before the examination, Katara brought home the question papers for all three days and had Damor meticulously copy the questions and answers into a lined register. “He wrote the sets so many times that he memorised all questions and their answers,” said Singh, adding that Damor was previously also arrested in the senior teacher exam 2022 paper leak case.Damor applied for the SI exam in 2021, cleared the written paper using the leaked content, but failed to qualify in the physical test.Sources said that after preparing the master register, multiple copies were made and circulated among other accused. The original was retained by Damor for his own preparation. Investigators suspect the same leaked papers were also handed to govt school teacher Kundan Kumar Pandya, who was arrested last month.Katara, arrested in 2023 for leaking the Senior Teacher Recruitment Exam 2022 for Rs 60 lakh to a cheating syndicate, is already in jail in connection with the same SI paper leak. Another nephew, Rahul, is also under the scanner in the case, Singh added.The arrest of Damor brings to light how leaked exam papers were not just sold, but also used by family members of key officials involved in the recruitment process. So far, 113 people have been arrested in connection with the SI exam paper leak case.
