Bhilwara: A road accident claimed the lives of two family members Monday morning, adding to the grief of a household already mourning a recent death.The incident occurred on National Highway 52 near Mahuwa village in Tonk district, when an unidentified speeding vehicle struck 35-year-old Soudan Bhil and his 21-year-old nephew Deepak Bhil, who were walking along the roadside. The victims were rushed to Saadat Hospital in Tonk but they succumbed to their injuries during treatment, police said. The tragedy is particularly heart-wrenching as Deepak, who had married just two months ago, was preparing for his father’s 12th-day mourning ritual scheduled for Tuesday.“An unknown vehicle hit the two men while they were walking on NH-52,” confirmed Tonk SP Vikas Sagwan. The police have launched an investigation to identify the vehicle and its driver.The incident sparked protests by local residents, prompting Mehandwas police to intervene. Police successfully managed to calm the situation and clear the road blockade. Post-mortem examinations were conducted at Tonk Saadat Hospital before the bodies were released to the grieving family.
