Jhunjhunu: Two persons died on the spot while a third one was seriously injured after their motorcycle was hit by a Thar SUV late Wednesday night near Kopariya Kuan in Jhunjhunu’s Chirawa city. According to sources, Rajesh Saini, Omprakash Saini and Ashok, residents of Sultana ka Bas, were returning from an election camp when the accident occurred. Rajesh Saini (45) and Omprakash Saini (58) died on the spot. Ashok was seriously injured and referred to Jaipur for treatment.Villagers gathered at the spot and alleged that police, instead of making arrangements to attend to the injured and remove the bodies from the spot, showed haste in removing the accident-hit Thar from there. The Thar vehicle involved in the accident had a poster of BJP leader Rajesh Dahiya’s daughter-in-law China Dahiya on it. Angry villagers pelted stones at the highway patrolling police jeep, damaging it. The police team was forced to leave the vehicle there and move away. Later, additional police force was called.Residents blocked the Chirawa-Mandrela Road late at night and raised slogans in protest. The villagers demanded compensation for the deceased’s families, legal action against the Thar driver and vehicle owner, along with other demands.Additional Superintendent of Police Phoolchand Meena, Additional Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) Devendra Singh Rajawat and DSP Gaurav Gurjar, with other police officers, reached the spot. Chirawa police station in charge Lakshmichand Verma and other police teams were also present there. State OBC Commission member Pawan Mavandiya, municipal chairperson Sumitra Saini, Saini Samaj president Rajesh Saini and others mediated and pacified the agitators.
