Dotasra seeks clarity over scrapping of Sikar Master Plan 2041

Jhunjhunu: Congress state chief Govind Singh Dotasra has questioned the state govt’s decision to scrap Sikar’s Master Plan 2041 and demanded that the govt should make its reasons to do so public. Speaking to the media Sunday in Sikar, Dotasra said that Rs 4.5 crore to Rs 5 crore was paid to MNIT to prepare the master plan. In such a situation, if the plan has been scrapped, the govt should clarify who will be responsible for the amount spent and within how much time will the next plan will be prepared.Dotasra said that Sikar’s master plan was prepared during Congress govt’s tenure in state and a notification too was issued. Later, when BJP came to power, the urban development and autonomous governance minister Jhabar Singh Kharra published the draft of Master Plan 2041 on Aug 25, 2025. During that time objections and suggestions were sought from the public. He claimed that after the draft’s publication about 5,000 objections were received, but the process to dispose them did not move forward. A decision to scrap the master plan was then taken.
