Jaipur: A major fire that engulfed Grew Solar’s plant in Dudu Friday evening was finally extinguished Saturday morning after more than 20 fire engines battled the blaze through the night, repeatedly returning to replenish their water supplies. No casualties were reported, with all employees evacuated safely after the fire broke out.Dudu Additional SP Shiv Lal said fire tenders from different areas were deployed. The extent of the damage will be assessed after a detailed inspection of the plant, he said. The fire broke out around 6pm Friday and spread rapidly across the facility. Huge flames were visible from nearly a kilometre away, while thick black smoke billowed over the area, triggering panic along the Jaipur-Ajmer highway and in nearby localities.A short circuit is suspected to have triggered the blaze, though the cause has not been established. The company said its internal safety team responded promptly and employees were evacuated from the premises.Officials said the scale of the blaze and the speed at which it spread made firefighting difficult. Crews worked through the night, with fire engines making repeated trips to replenish water before returning to the plant. With the fire extinguished Saturday morning, the focus will now shift to assessing the damage and establishing what caused the blaze. The extent of losses was not immediately known. In a statement, Grew Solar said there had been no casualties and that the safety of its workforce remained its priority. The company said it was cooperating with the authorities in assessing the incident and conducting an investigation.“The cause of the fire remains unknown at this stage and will be determined following thorough investigation,” the company said.
