Jaipur: A power outage lasting more than an hour disrupted routine operations at the secretariat Thursday, causing inconvenience to officials at the state’s administrative headquarters. The outage began around 9.30am and continued until 11am, officials told TOI. A senior energy department official attributed the disruption to an internal issue within the secretariat, ruling out any fault in the discom’s supply network. The incident comes months after a power failure in June, when a technical fault at the Heerapura grid substation disrupted supply to the Civil Lines area and the secretariat.Power disruptions have also affected high-profile events in Jaipur. On June 11, a supply failure caused by the tripping of two transformers at the 400 kV Heerapura grid substation interrupted a press conference by Union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw at BJP headquarters.Following that incident, the state govt ordered an inquiry, leading to the suspension of two power department employees and a charge sheet against another official.
