Jaipur: Motorists using the new U-turn bays on Mahal Road will get better visibility at night, with Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) floating a Rs 68.38 lakh tender to install high-mast lights along the stretch.The work is expected to begin by the end of this month and be completed in four months. The U-turn bays came under scrutiny after being painted Jaipur pink.A JDA executive engineer said the high-mast lights would improve visibility around the structures and make them safer for motorists at night.TOI had reported on Sept 23 that the U-turn bays were painted Jaipur pink instead of the standard black-and-yellow markings. The colour had raised concerns over its visibility in low-light conditions and whether it had the required sanction under road safety standards.
