Raj startups find new investors after on-spot funding at TiE SmashUp

Jaipur: Startups that received Rs 4.8 crore in on-the-spot investments through TiE Rajasthan’s annual startup-investor meet, SmashUp, over the last two editions have gone on to raise significantly larger funding rounds.According to TiE Rajasthan, several startups that secured investments at the event later attracted follow-on funding from angel investors, venture capital firms and institutional funds.“Rajasthan does not have many platforms that provide startups exposure to national funding agencies. Investors from across the country and state’s startups participate in TiE’s annual conference, creating opportunities for fundraising and capital infusion,” said TiE Rajasthan president Jitendra Kumar Agarwal.Boba Bhai, a tech-enabled bubble tea and Korean street-food QSR chain that secured Rs 50 lakh at the previous edition of SmashUp, later raised $4.3 million for expansion. GreenStitch, a climate-tech SaaS startup serving fashion and textile companies, received Rs 75 lakh through the platform before raising $1.2 million seed round.Consumer nutrition startup GoOAT raised Rs 1.6 crore in follow-on funding after securing Rs 25 lakh at SmashUp. Beauty services platform Yes Madam received Rs 75 lakh from Warmup Ventures through the TiE network and later raised $5.2 million from Info Edge Growth Fund after gaining visibility on Shark Tank India.Jaipur-based Ole Rooms raised over Rs 2.5 crore in angel funding after participating in SmashUp, while Aviotron Aerospace later secured pre-Series A funding at a reported valuation of Rs 70 crore.At this year’s event, held on Tuesday and Wednesday, startups showcased products and business ideas across sectors including artificial intelligence, edtech, fintech, wedding tech, healthtech, e-commerce, IT, aerospace, drones, sports tech, fashion, real estate, cybersecurity, HR tech, pet care, environmental services and FMCG before the investors.
