Jaipur: The impact of ‘No UPI Day’ was visible across Jaipur Friday, with several major shops, roadside stalls and small tea shops refusing digital payments. The move left UPI-dependent customers struggling to arrange cash. Even small payments for tea, snacks and other routine purchases became difficult for many.Anirudh Wadhwani, who stopped at a tea stall in C-Scheme, said, “I have been using only UPI for so long that I’m no longer used to carrying cash. It has been quite difficult today.”Pramod Kumar, who was shopping in C-Scheme, said, “I usually pay through UPI for everything. Today, I suddenly needed cash and had to look for an ATM.”Vishal Sharma, a customer on MI Road, said, “I am dependent on UPI even for small purchases. It was quite inconvenient today as I did not have cash.”“Earlier, we always carried cash, but we hardly need it now. Today was a reminder that keeping some cash with you is still useful,” said Rajnesh Chaudhary, a customer in Raja Park. The impact was felt across both large markets and smaller roadside stalls. For many, the disruption highlighted how deeply digital payments have become a part of everyday life in Jaipur, including for small purchases.
