Bhilwara: BJP state president Madan Rathore, who reached Bhilwara Thursday evening, launched a sharp attack on Rajasthan Congress chief Govind Singh Dotasra, alleging that the latter misused office while being a minister under the previous state govt and obtained OBC reservation benefits for his family despite being in the creamy layer.Rathore said Dotasra failed to secure benefits for the public during his ministership and instead ensured advantages only for his family members, adding that an inquiry into the matter was already underway. He cited the OBC creamy layer rule, stating that once a person becomes an MLA, the family should not avail OBC reservation, and pointed to his own example, saying his children appeared in recruitment exams under the general category because of his MLA-MP status.Referring to the urban local body election results, Rathore said the public “blessed” BJP, which won 212 out of 309 urban local bodies, while Congress failed to cross 100. He said BJP formed boards in nine out of 10 municipal corporations. On BJP ticket distribution in municipal polls, Rathore admitted mistakes were made but claimed voters “corrected” them by giving the party a majority, while also noting low vote percentages in some cities. On upcoming Panchayati Raj elections, Rathore asserted BJP would win more seats and said political appointments would be made after the rural polls, as party workers and office-bearers would be adjusted in local bodies first.
