New RU VC Bhagwati Prasad Saraswat
Jaipur: Governor Haribhau Bagde Thursday appointed Prof Bhagwati Prasad Saraswat as vice-chancellor of Rajasthan University, along with new VCs for two other state universities.Saraswat, currently VC of Kota University, will take over from Prof Alpana Kateja, whose tenure as Rajasthan University’s first woman VC ends Friday.For Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Shekhawati University, Sikar, the governor appointed Prof Yudhveer Singh, while Prof Narsi Ram Bishnoi was appointed VC of Maharaja Ganga Singh University, Bikaner.The appointments were made in consultation with the state govt for a three-year term from the date of assuming office or until the appointees turn 70, whichever is earlier.
