Ajmer: A trainee pilot was forced to crash-land his plane at Kishangarh airport Thursday morning when the tyre burst while taking off. The plane remained in the air for three hours before it could crash-land. No injuries were reported. According to an official, the plane belonged to a private flying school near the airport. The plane took off at 9.30 am, but around 11 am the pilot realised that the tyre had burst, making it impossible to land safely. He informed the Air Traffic Control Room.“We called emergency, NDRF and SDRF teams and police officials to the spot to make sure there would be no casualties,” said an official source. “The plane kept hovering in the air so that fuel level could decrease and there would be no blast while landing,” added a source at the ATC room. The kaccha road was sprayed with foam and water was spread on the runway to minimise friction during crash landing. The landing was finally done at 2 pm. Inquiry into the incident is underway.
