Jaipur: Around 200 Viklang Jan Kranti Sena members plan to protest inside Directorate of Local Bodies (DLB) office Tuesday, seeking relaxation of the mandatory one-year experience requirement for disabled applicants in Rajasthan sanitation worker recruitment.With the application deadline set for Sept 28, the organisation said many eligible candidates could be excluded unless a decision was taken soon.Disabled applicants have sought removal of the requirement for nearly a month, arguing that it prevents them from applying. Although govt jobs provide 4% reservation for persons with disabilities, applicants said disabled people were rarely formally employed in sanitation work and therefore struggled to obtain experience certificates.Organisation representatives met then DLB director Juikar Pratik Chandrashekhar on Aug 10 and were assured that a decision would be taken before recruitment began on Aug 15, but no decision has been made. A DLB meeting on Aug 30 also ended inconclusively.Viklang Jan Kranti Sena chief Satendra Singh Rathore said the protesters would enter secretary Ravi Jain’s chamber. He said the protest would be intensified if govt and the administration failed to decide within an hour.
