Seized sandalwood in police custody
Bhilwara: Badi Sadri police in Chittorgarh district seized over 200 kg of illegal sandalwood from a car and arrested two men for allegedly transporting it without a permit Monday.Chittorgarh SP Dharmendra Singh said police stopped a suspicious Creta near a hotel close to Ghantaghar as it was heading towards the town. The driver, Munavvar Husain Mansuri, and his passenger, Parvez Rajja Pinjara, both residents of Indra Colony in Badi Sadri, were questioned about sacks kept inside the car.As the two failed to give satisfactory answers, police searched the vehicle and recovered 211.82 kg of sandalwood.The car allegedly used to transport the sandalwood was also seized and both men were arrested.
