Jaipur: Two days after kidnap and miraculous escape of a chartered accountant was reported from outside Central Park, police Saturday identified a third suspect who allegedly accompanied the two men who forced their way into the CA’s Mercedes.

DCP (South) Rajarshi Raj Varma told TOI that investigators examining footage from more than 56 CCTV cameras found that all three suspects arrived on a motorcycle, which they parked near Central Park. Two of them allegedly got into CA Rajiv Gupta’s Mercedes and drove away with him towards Delhi Road, the third suspect stayed back.The third man, who kept his helmet on throughout, was seen loitering around the area for some time before fleeing, police said. His presence has raised questions about the exact role of each suspect and whether more people were involved in planning the abduction.Varma said police have tracked the third suspect across CCTV footage covering nearly 50km and are confident of arresting him soon. Investigators are also working to identify and track the two men who allegedly abducted Gupta.

Gupta Thursday reached Central Park around 6.30am for morning walk and left through Gate No. 4 around 7.30am. As he entered his Mercedes, two men, apparently aged between 25 and 30, allegedly got into his car. One carried a pistol and the other a knife. According to Gupta’s account to police, one man pushed him out of the driver’s seat and took control of the car while the other pointed the pistol at him. The men allegedly drove towards Amer and Delhi Road while threatening him.Police sources said the pistol, later recovered from the car, was fake. The driver allegedly did not know how to operate the vehicle properly and repeatedly asked Gupta about its functions.Meanwhile, police have stepped up security around Central Park following the incident. Two Ashok Nagar police station vehicles will remain stationed at the park, while personnel in plain clothes will also keep a watch in and around the area.
