Jodhpur: BJP, Friday, complained to election authorities after a man was seen touching former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s feet at a polling centre in Jodhpur’s Ward 82, alleging he was a member of the polling team.Gehlot had reached Vardhman Jain School polling centre in Mahamandir to cast his vote when a man approached him and touched his feet. The incident was captured on video and later triggered a political controversy.BJP Rajasthan legal cell convener Saurabh Saraswat, in a complaint to District Election Officer, Jodhpur and State Election Commission, sought action against the alleged polling official, saying such conduct could raise questions over the neutrality of the election process.Election authorities subsequently conducted an inquiry into the incident. However, the inquiry report contradicted BJP’s allegation.According to the report submitted by the sector officer to the assistant returning officer, three people touched Gehlot’s feet at the polling centre. They were identified as a voter, a booth agent of an independent candidate, and the candidate’s election agent.
