Jaipur: Former cabinet minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas Tuesday targeted BJP govt over law and order, healthcare and civic issues, accusing it of spending Rs 100 crore on IIFA while failing to allocate funds for the development of Govind Dev Ji temple. Addressing a news conference at his residence amid the ongoing civic elections canvassing, Khachariyawas said chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma was holding roadshows across the state but should instead answer people’s questions on the deteriorating law and order situation.“The govt will have to answer these questions, and people will respond through their votes,” he said, alleging that Rajasthan had witnessed a rise in rape cases.

Khachariyawas also alleged that BJP workers were distributing liquor during election campaign. “For the past four days, people in different areas have been telling us that liquor is being distributed. Instead of full bottles, they are being given pouches,” he claimed.Speaking on healthcare, he alleged that 22 women died during treatment at a govt hospital, while five lost their eyesight and seven suffered kidney failure. He also alleged that patients were being given spurious medicines. The allegations could not be independently verified.Taking aim at CM’s Jaipur roadshows, Khachariyawas questioned why areas like Sanganer, including constituencies represented by Deputy CM Diya Kumari and minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, were allegedly facing poor roads and basic civic problems. He also criticised Diya Kumari’s reported “aukat” remark, saying, “People know their place, but those in power must remember that they are public servants.”
