JAIPUR: Tension gripped Jaipur’s Amer area after tourist guide Manish Soni, who was allegedly stabbed during a dispute over taking a jeep towards Amer Fort on Monday, died of his injuries, according to news agency PTI.Following his death, local residents shut shops in the area and staged a protest outside police station, demanding strict action against those responsible.The incident took place around 10 am near Maotha when an argument between Soni and a jeep driver over allowing the vehicle to proceed towards Amer Fort allegedly turned violent.Police had detained the driver, Azam, and his associate, Nazish, following the attack.According to police, Soni was stopping vehicles from proceeding towards Amer Fort when he got into an argument with Azam over allowing the jeep to go towards the fort. The argument allegedly escalated, with Azam and Nazish attacking Soni with a knife.The knife struck Soni in the abdomen, leaving him seriously injured.People present at the spot rushed him to SMS Hospital, where he was undergoing treatment in critical condition.
