Jaipur: The Jaipur district will observe dry days on Sept 9 and 14, coinciding with polling for the Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) and counting of votes, respectively. Jaipur district collector Sandesh Nayak has issued a notification in this regard. In areas under the JMC, liquor shops will remain closed from 6pm on Sept 9 to Sept 11. In areas under other urban local bodies (ULBs) of the district where polling is scheduled on Sept 9, the dry day will be observed from 6pm on Sept 7 to Sept 9.“This means liquor will not be available anywhere in the district on Sept 9, and in Jaipur city on Sept 10 and 11. However, neighbouring ULBs such as Bagru, Kanota and Bassi will go to the polls on Sept 9, so liquor shops in their outskirts will remain open on Sept 10 and 11,” an official said.Similarly, liquor shops across the district will remain closed on Sept 14, the day of vote counting.
