Jaisalmer: Balotra district collector Sushil Kumar Yadav Friday ordered the demolition of 63 govt school buildings and classrooms declared unsafe and structurally unfit, citing concerns over student safety amid heavy monsoon rains.The decision was taken after reports submitted by the Zila Parishad CEO, the chief district education officer and committees constituted at the panchayat samiti level. The assessment found 63 school buildings and classrooms in the Balotra panchayat samiti area to be dilapidated and at risk of collapse.The district administration approved the demolition to prevent any untoward incidents and ensure the safety of students and the public.Yadav directed sub-divisional officers, tehsildars and officials of the education dept and other concerned depts to complete the demolition as per the prescribed procedure and submit a compliance report within 15 days.
