Lightning kills man, granddaughter grazing goats

Bhilwara: A 65-year-old man, identified as Dharma Nath and his seven-year-old granddaughter, Gayatri, were killed after lightning struck them while they were grazing goats in Bhilwara’s Kalalkhedi village Thursday evening. Seven goats were also killed due to the impact.The deceased’s family has around 50 sheep and goats, through which they earn their livelihood. The accident not only led to the loss of two family members but also caused considerable financial loss.Gangapur Deputy SP Sudarshan Paliwal reached the spot and gave necessary directions to the officials. Girdawar Dalchand Bhil and Patwari Nandkishor Bairwa from the revenue department also inspected the area to assess the losses.The two bodies were handed over to the family after post-mortem Friday.
