Jaipur: Exciting qualifying rounds were played on Thursday on the opening day of the Rajasthan State Badminton Ranking tournament at the Sawai Mansingh Indoor Badminton Hall here on Thursday. Players performed brilliantly and fought hard to secure a spot in the main draw.Organising secretary Atul Gupta stated that the live draw for the main draw will be held at 5pm on Friday in the presence of Rajasthan Badminton Association vice president Manoj Dasot, chief referee Chandrakant Sharma, and match controller Vineet Sharma.In the women’s singles qualifying matches, Shivani Sharma of Jaipur defeated Gunjan Sharma of Alwar in straight games, 15-3, 15-9, to advance to the next round. Harshita Yadav, Khushi Sharma of Jaipur, and Nadika Sharma of Sawai Madhopur also won and qualified for the main draw.In the Under-19 girls singles qualifying matches, Sakshi Vyas of Bikaner performed brilliantly and edged past Kaira Arya of Jaipur 16-14, 10-15, 15-11 in a close three-game encounter. Other winners included Yashika Sharma, Parmika Domar, Geet Sharma, Ojaswita Dubey, Rakshanda Bisht, Sanvi Agarwal, Shreyati Gupta of Jaipur, Komal Chaudhary of Bikaner, Yosha Parihar and Inakshi Kundu of Udaipur who advanced to the next round.In the first round of men’s singles, Dinesh Choudhary, Kuldeep Singh Tanwar, Ekanash Sharma, Atharva Maheshwari, Tapesh Meena, Yuvraj Kumar Bansiwal of Jaipur, Rohit Sharma of Alwar, Bhavya Ghosh of Kota and Gaurav Joshi of Bikaner won their respective matches and entered the next round.The main draw will begin on Friday. According to the organising committee, the live main draw will be attended by players, parents, and coaches to ensure the competition is conducted with complete transparency.
