Edu secretary asks schools to promote peer learning

Jaipur: In an effort to improve classroom learning, education secretary Rajesh Yadav has written to all govt school principals, urging them to promote peer learning among students. In a letter issued Friday, Yadav directed principals to form groups of three to five students in every class to encourage mutual co-operation and improve learning outcomes. The secretary also asked schools to integrate activity-based teaching, science-based learning and sensory learning into regular classroom instruction to nurture curiosity, creativity and students’ ability to learn.Speaking to TOI, Yadav said the initiative aims to ensure students from different academic backgrounds learn together and help one another improve.“Instead of creating divisions among students, we want them to ensure their classmates also perform well while teachers guide them. For teachers, we have also introduced a QR code system through which they can directly submit their concerns and suggestions to help improve the dept,” he said.
