Jaisalmer: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Friday caught Patwari Lakhveer Yadav of Patwar Halka Ajasar in Nachna Colonisation Department, Jaisalmer, and his alleged private broker, Jetoosingh, after laying a trap in which they were allegedly caught accepting a Rs 50,000 bribe.Director General of ACB Govind Gupta said the ACB ‘s Jaisalmer unit received a complaint alleging that Patwari Yadav, through Jetoosingh, demanded a Rs 50,000 bribe for re-demarcation of the complainant ‘s father ‘s field, making an entry in the revenue record and submitting the spot measurement report. The complaint was verified discreetly before action was taken.A trap was laid under the supervision of Narayan Togas, deputy inspector general of police, ACB Jodhpur. The operation was executed by a team led by Additional Superintendent of Police Narpatchand of the Jaisalmer Chowki.The ACB said the team intercepted the accused immediately after the complainant handed over the bribe amount. The entire Rs 50,000 was recovered from the possession of alleged broker Jetoosingh.Togas said the ACB team later took Patwari Yadav to his govt residence, where searches of cupboards, bank accounts, land documents and other assets were under way.Questioning of the accused and further proceedings continued under the supervision of Inspector General S. Parimala. The ACB said a case would be registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
