Police seize 2,800 litres of allegedly stolen illegal chemical

Bhilwara: In a joint operation Friday, Mangalwad police in Chittorgarh district and the district special team (DST) seized 2,800 litres of suspected stolen chemical and booked four persons in connection with the case.Chittorgarh SP Dharmendra Singh said the operation was carried out under additional SP Mukul Sharma by a joint team led by Mangalwad station house officer Bhagwan Lal and DST in-charge ASI Suraj Kumar.Acting on a tip-off, the team intercepted the consignment near Chapri border in the Mangalwad police station area. In the presence of district supply dept officer Himanshu Joshi, police seized 28 drums containing the chemical — seven drums of 200 litres each and 21 drums containing around 50-80 litres each — with a total quantity of about 2,800 litres.Police said the four accused were caught while unloading the suspected stolen chemical from trucks behind Rajhans Hotel on the Chittorgarh-Udaipur national highway. A case has been registered and further investigation is on.
