Six climb elevated reservoir against bajri lease, come down after assurance
Two women and 4 men demanding cancellation of the bajri lease climbed down from the elevated reservoir after 20 hours following the administration’s assurance

Bhilwara: The state govt’s decision to issue bajri lease on the Khari river passing along border of Bhilwara and Beawar districts, ran into rough weather Thursday evening. Six persons including two women and four men from the group that is observing indefinite hunger strike since June 26 at Bijaynagar tehsil’s Jaliya Dvitiya gram panchayat headquarters, climbed a nearby elevated reservoir at 6 pm Thursday. The group stayed there throughout the night despite rain.On Friday afternoon, Masuda SDM Deepshikha, and other officials reached the spot to talk to the villagers. The group of six atop the reservoir came down after they were assured that the demands would be conveyed to the govt. The protesters on hunger strike were given juice to end their strike. The villagers submitted a memorandum to the administration and said that along with ending the bajri lease (LOI), the sit-in would continue until their demands were accepted by the govt and the administration.
