Jaipur: Rajasthan University cancelled a second-semester Sociology exam on Tuesday after students alleged they were handed an AI-generated question paper that carried prewritten answers and theory instead of questions.The Indian Society paper at the university’s PG School of Humanities was scheduled from 3pm to 6pm. Students said they realised soon after receiving the paper that it had no questions or multiple-choice options.Vikas Kumar Bairwa, one of the affected students, alleged that invigilators collected the papers immediately after students objected. “Authorities took back the question papers and asked us not to speak about the matter outside. They only informed us that the examination would now be held on June 27,” he said.A group of students later gathered outside the university administration office, seeking an explanation.NSUI functionary Manish Meghvanshi said, “The second-semester Indian Society examination of the Sociology dept was scheduled for Tuesday. However, even before students could begin writing, they noticed discrepancies in the question papers. As soon as the administration became aware of the issue, the papers were withdrawn and the examination was cancelled. Students are shocked that university question papers are now allegedly being prepared using AI.”
