Jaipur: Congress on Saturday announced the first phase of a nationwide campaign against paper leaks, examination irregularities and unemployment, with Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi set to address student conventions across the country beginning in Kota on June 17.The campaign, announced by AICC General Secretary (Organisation) K C Venugopal, will focus on issues affecting students, competitive examination aspirants and job seekers. Besides Kota, conventions are scheduled in Allahabad on July 10, Patna on July 11 and Delhi on July 14.According to the party, the initiative aims to mobilise students and youth over what it termed the growing crisis of paper leaks, recruitment irregularities and unemployment. Congress said it would seek reforms in recruitment and examination systems, stricter action against paper leak rackets and a detailed discussion on the issue in Parliament.In a statement, Venugopal said repeated paper leaks, rising examination costs and shortcomings in the recruitment process have put the future of millions of young Indians at risk. He said the campaign was launched under the guidance of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and the leadership of Rahul Gandhi.The party said the conventions will bring together students, educators, youth organisations and others affected by examination irregularities, providing a platform to share experiences and demand accountability.As part of the outreach programme, the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), Youth Congress and party units at the state, district and local levels will organise campus visits, interactions at coaching centres, universities and schools, social media campaigns and live screenings.The Congress said the campaign would reiterate demands raised by Rahul Gandhi, including decentralisation of the NEET examination system, abolition of examination fees and stringent legal action against those involved in paper leak cases. It also renewed its demand for accountability from the Centre, including the resignation of Union Education minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
