Jaipur: The young girls Rajasthan brought laurels to the region by clinching the silver medal in the 45th Sub Junior National Shooting Ball Championship held at NTR Stadium, Mahbubabad, Telangana from May 12 to 14, 2026.According to Dr OP Machra, General Secretary of Rajasthan Shooting Ball Association, Rajasthan’s Under-17 Sub Junior girls team reached the finals of the Shooting Ball National Championship due to the excellent performance of Kishna, captain Chanchal Jangid and Vidhi Rohilla. Coach RP Sherawat also played an important role in the success.Rajasthan girls team’s march was only stopped in the final as they became the runners-up after a thrilling match with Haryana.Rajasthan girls went down fighting 19-21, 21-17, 20-22 to be satisfied with the silver medal. The Maharashtra team remained at the third position.The Rajasthan boys’ team also won all their pool matches against Mumbai, Goa, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh to top the pool and advance to the quarterfinals.However, they lost to the eventual champions, Uttar Pradesh, in a close contest, 19-21, 20-21. In the boys’ category, Uttar Pradesh emerged victorious, Gujarat runners-up, while West Bengal placed third.The chief guests at the closing ceremony were General Secretary of Asian Shooting Ball Federation Ravindra Singh Tomar, Vice President of Shooting Ball Federation of India Dr OP Machra, General Secretary Jeetraj Tomar, Treasurer Jitendra Singh Baghel, Member Ranjeet Kale, Aalaih, Ramaidu, Atul Tomar and Shakki Mohammad. The guests distributed trophies, cash prizes, medals, mementos and certificates to all the winning teams.Telangana BJP organization general secretary Chandra Shekhar, all the officials of Rajasthan Shooting Ball Association expressed happiness over the silver medal won by the girls and wished the players all the best.
