Jaipur: The district administration has urged parents and the public to actively participate in the HPV vaccination programme aimed at protecting girls from cervical cancer.District collector Sandesh Nayak said the vaccine is safe, effective and certified by the World Health Organization, and is being administered free of cost to girls aged 14 to 15 at health centres across the district.Officials said the HPV vaccine is given as a single dose and is highly beneficial for young girls. For vaccination, proof of age such as an Aadhaar card, school ID or marksheet is required. In the absence of these documents, age can be verified through a consent letter from parents or guardians, as per an official release issued Thursday. The collector also cautioned against rumours and misinformation, stating that the vaccine has no serious side effects and offers over 95% protection against cervical cancer.
