Kota: A major fire broke out in a plastic goods store on the second floor of City Mall on Jhalawar Road in Kota district Wednesday, destroying the outlet but causing no casualties. The blaze erupted around 10.30am at the store that was yet to be formally inaugurated. Business activity in the mall had not started at the time, helping avert a major mishap.“Initial inquiry pointed to a short circuit in the electrical panel of the store, which was run by a Malaysia-based company. Security guards first attempted to control the fire using in-house equipment, but it quickly spread, engulfing the floor and filling the building with smoke,” said fire officer at Kota Municipal Corporation Amzad Khan. tnn
