Jaipur: BJP Rajasthan in-charge Radha Mohan Das Agrawal Tuesday said the party’s organisational structure places the system above individuals, asserting that even the chief minister works within a consultative framework and does not take decisions unilaterally.Addressing reporters at the BJP state headquarters here, Agrawal said the chief minister reviews the performance of ministers and may suggest changes, but the final decision on cabinet expansion is taken by the party’s national leadership. “The organisation works through a defined process. The CM reviews his team and, if required, discusses changes with the national president before any decision is taken,” he said.Agrawal’s remarks come amidst discussions regarding potential cabinet expansions, noting that these decisions would be contingent upon evaluations made by the chief minister. “The CM is continuously reviewing performance, and necessary actions will be taken when deemed necessary,” he added.Regarding political appointments to various boards and commissions, Agrawal reiterated that selections will be grounded in merit and organisational needs, acknowledging that the party cannot accommodate every member in formal roles. His comments follow those of former chief minister Vasundhara Raje, who advocated for prioritising committed party workers in such appointments. Agrawal agreed, saying, “Only capable and dedicated workers should be given responsibilities, as capability and commitment will determine roles in our organisation.”He also indicated that new district-level organisational appointments are on the horizon. In a critical response to former chief minister Ashok Gehlot’s recent comments against BJP state govt, Agrawal suggested that Gehlot’s remarks indicate an ongoing internal struggle within the Congress. “He is attempting to position himself as a stronger leader within his party, and that is their internal matter,” he remarked. Agrawal said Congressmen frequently launch attacks on the BJP, while their real struggles stem from conflicts within their own ranks. “Their internal discord was evident even during their time in power, as illustrated by the removal of their own deputy chief minister(Sachin Pilot),” he concluded, underscoring the tumultuous state of the Congress party’s internal dynamics.
