Jaipur: The Jaipur Municipal Corporation on Monday sealed the MS Dhoni Cricket Stadium on Sikar Road during a drive to recover pending urban development (UD) tax. According to JMC officials, the stadium operators owed around Rs 42 lakh in dues. The action was taken after repeated notices failed to prompt payment.Murlipura zone deputy commissioner Pawan Kumar Sharma said the dues accumulated between 2007 and 2025. As the amount remained unpaid despite several reminders, the civic revenue team carried out the sealing. The stadium is named after former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.During the drive, some shops in the Murlipura zone were also sealed for failing to clear UD tax dues of about Rs 2 lakh.JMC also carried out action in other zones. In the Jagatpura zone, 3 properties were sealed at different locations for pending dues, while 6 properties in the Sanganer zone were sealed over unpaid urban development tax.
