Two brothers drown in water tank in Alwar

Alwar: Two brothers drowned in a water tank in Shekhpur village in Alwar district Sunday.The deceased were identified as Manish Balai (15) and Sandeep Balai (12), sons of Puran Balai and residents of Rasulpur village in Alwar.According to police, the brothers left home around 10am to visit their grandmother, who was staying at the fields. At around 2.30pm, they went to eat ber from a tree near a water body about 500 metres away from their grandmother’s house. Women labourers harvesting wheat in the fields chased them away, after which the children ran from the spot and later entered the johad to bathe.When the children did not return, family members searched for them but could not locate them. Labourers arriving at the fields Monday noticed clothes lying near the johad and alerted the villagers. Following this, villagers gathered at the site and discovered the bodies in the johad and informed the police.Lakshmangadh DSP Kailash Jindal reached the spot with a police team and the bodies were pulled out.On receiving information, in-charge minister Kirodi Lal Meena reached Rasulpur village. He consoled the greiving family and assured full assistance from the government. Rajgarh-Lakshmangadh MLA Mangelal Meena also met with the family.
