Jaipur: A 30-year-old tourist from Slovakia recovered Rs 30,000 within 24 hours after mistakenly paying 10 times the cab fare during a trip from Delhi to Jaipur, following swift action by Jaipur police Tuesday.DCP (north) Karan Sharma said the woman, a scientist from the Slovak Republic, travelled to India to attend a conference at IIT Delhi. She decided to visit Jaipur after her return flight was cancelled and booked a taxi from Delhi to the city on Monday.The cab dropped her at Chaura Rasta in Jaipur before leaving. However, about 3 to 4 hours later, the woman noticed that Rs 30,000 was deducted from her bank account instead of the Rs 3,000 fare she intended to pay.She immediately approached Kotwali police station in Jaipur and reported the matter on Monday.Sharma said police’s Abhay Command Centre identified the cab from CCTV cameras and contacted the cab company.
